The North Face for women, from down jackets such as the Nuptse and longer down parkas to shells, rain jackets, softshells and fleece.
Down jackets and parkas
The Nuptse has a boxy shape and wide horizontal baffles, and the 1996 Retro Nuptse is a reissue based on the version from 1996. The Gotham is a down parka with a longer body and a high neck. The number on the label, such as 700, is the fill power of the down: a higher number gives more warmth for the same weight. The down jackets have their own page, The North Face puffer jackets.
Shells, softshells and rain jackets
Shells and rain jackets keep out wind and rain, and HyVent is the name The North Face uses for its own waterproof, breathable fabrics. Summit Series is its most technical line. A softshell is a stretch fabric that blocks wind and light rain and breathes more easily than a waterproof shell. The jackets have their own page, The North Face jackets.
Fleece and jumpers
Fleece jackets, quarter-zip jumpers and crewneck jumpers complete the range, usually with the logo on the chest.
Size and measurements
Many items from The North Face are made in one unisex cut, and those items appear on the women's and the men's page. Sizes differ between the women's and the men's ranges, so the measurements are a better guide than the letter on the label. The method is explained in the guide to measuring pit to pit.
The full range is on the The North Face page, and the men's items are on The North Face for men. More outdoor clothing is in outdoor clothing for women. The complete guide to The North Face explains the models, and The North Face technology names explains the names on the labels.
