Pre-owned Stone Island jumpers, from fine cotton crewnecks to wool V-necks, turtlenecks and quarter-zips, with the compass badge on the left sleeve.
Crewnecks and other necklines
The crewneck is the classic Stone Island jumper, with a round ribbed collar, ribbed cuffs and hem and the badge on the left sleeve. The same construction comes as a V-neck, as a turtleneck and as a quarter-zip with a short zip at the collar. Hoodies and cardigans are on the Stone Island page.
Cotton, wool and garment dyeing
Stone Island knitwear is made in cotton, wool and wool blends, from a fine gauge to a heavier, textured knit. Many cotton jumpers are garment dyed: the jumper is knitted first and dyed afterwards, so the colour settles slightly differently at the seams and the ribbing than on the body. Massimo Osti, who founded Stone Island in 1982, worked with garment dyeing from the start.
Size and measurements
Stone Island knitwear differs in cut between models and seasons, so jumpers with the same letter can measure several centimetres apart. The guide to measuring pit to pit explains how to compare those numbers with a jumper that already fits.
The jackets have their own page, Stone Island jackets, and the full range can also be browsed for men and women. More knitwear from other brands is in men's jumpers and knitwear, and the guide to Stone Island covers the badge and the labels.
Frequently asked questions
Is the badge on a Stone Island jumper removable?
The badge is attached with buttons, so it can be removed. It is included unless the description states otherwise.
How should a Stone Island jumper be washed?
The care label inside the jumper gives the instructions for that jumper. Wool is hand washed in cold water or on the wool cycle and dried flat, because a wet wool jumper that is hung up stretches under its own weight. Cotton is washed cold and inside out, and tumble drying is the biggest single cause of shrinkage in cotton. More is in the guide to washing and caring for clothing.
How can a genuine Stone Island jumper be recognised?
The badge, the buttons that hold it and the labels inside are the main points to check. Every item is authenticated through LegitApp, and Spotting fake Stone Island explains seven details to check.
