Pre-owned workwear for men, from duck canvas work jackets and chore coats to double-knee pants, carpenter jeans and dungarees.
Jackets, work pants and shirts
Men's workwear is built around a few garments. The duck canvas work jacket comes with a corduroy collar, as on the Detroit jacket, or with an attached hood, as on the Active jacket. The chore coat is a button-front jacket with patch pockets. Work pants come as double-knee pants, carpenter pants with a hammer loop and straight twill work pants such as the Dickies 874, and button-up work shirts and heavy T-shirts complete the range.
Size and measurements
Jackets and tops are measured at four points: across the chest from armpit to armpit, the length of the body, across the shoulders and the length of the sleeve. Trousers are sized as waist by inseam in inches, for example 34x32. The method is explained in the guide to measuring pit to pit, and the Carhartt sizing guide covers that brand in detail.
All workwear is on the workwear page, and workwear for women has a page of its own. By brand, see Carhartt for men, Dickies for men and Carhartt WIP for men. The fabrics are explained in workwear fabrics.
Frequently asked questions
What is a chore coat?
A chore coat is a straight-cut work jacket with a button front and patch pockets, usually in canvas or denim. It is lighter than a lined work jacket and is often worn as an overshirt.
What is the difference between carpenter pants and double-knee pants?
Carpenter pants have a hammer loop and extra pockets on the leg for tools. Double-knee pants have a second layer of fabric over the knees, and many of them have the carpenter pockets as well.
