Pre-owned women's shirts and blouses, from button-up shirts in cotton poplin to Oxford shirts, short sleeve shirts and overshirts.

Button-up shirts and blouses

A button-up shirt has a collar and a full button placket, and it is most often made from poplin, a smooth and fine cotton. A blouse is usually lighter and softer in fabric and can have a looser cut or a different neckline. Both are worn tucked in or loose over trousers or jeans.

Oxford and button-down shirts

An Oxford shirt is made from Oxford cloth, a cotton with a basket weave that is slightly heavier and softer than poplin. It is often combined with a button-down collar, where the collar points are buttoned to the front of the shirt. A men's Oxford shirt is often worn oversized by women. Ralph Lauren shirts have their own page.

Size and measurements

A women's shirt is usually cut closer at the waist than a men's shirt with the same size letter. The guide to measuring pit to pit explains how to compare those numbers with a shirt from the wardrobe.

Shirts for everyone are under shirts, polo shirts are under women's polo shirts, and the men's range is under men's shirts. The full women's range is under women's clothing.

Questions about women's shirts

What is the difference between a shirt and a blouse?

A shirt has a collar and a button placket and is usually made from a firmer cotton. A blouse is made from a lighter, softer fabric and has a looser cut or a different neckline.

How should a cotton shirt be washed?

The care label inside the item gives the instructions for that item. Cotton shirts are best washed at a low temperature and dried on a hanger, which also limits ironing. More is in the guide to washing and caring for clothing.

How is the condition of an item described?

Every item has a condition label, and any imperfection is stated in the condition description of the item.
