Ralph Lauren started in 1967 with a range of ties sold under the name Polo and added a full menswear collection in 1968. The embroidered polo player first appeared in 1971 and now sits on the chest of most Ralph Lauren clothing for men. Jumpers and knitwear

The quarter-zip has a short zip from the collar to the upper chest and is worn over a shirt or a T-shirt. The cable knit has twisted columns of stitches down the front and the sleeves, and the crewneck and V-neck jumpers are knitted in cotton, wool and merino. Shirts and polo shirts

The Oxford button-down is made in a cotton with a basket weave and has a collar whose points button to the shirt. Ralph Lauren also makes shirts in poplin, stripes and checks. Ralph Lauren hoodies come as full-zip models and as pullovers with a kangaroo pocket.
