Pre-owned Ralph Lauren jackets, from the Harrington and the bomber jacket to windbreakers, track jackets and field jackets, most with the embroidered polo player on the chest.

Ralph Lauren outerwear

Ralph Lauren started in 1967 with a range of ties sold under the name Polo and added a full menswear collection in 1968. The label inside names the line, such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Polo Sport or Lauren Ralph Lauren.

Harrington and bomber jackets

The Harrington began as a British golf jacket in the late 1930s and is a short, lightweight jacket with a zip front, a short collar that fastens with buttons and, on many Ralph Lauren models, a check lining. Harringtons have their own page: Ralph Lauren Harrington jackets. The bomber jacket also ends at the waist, but has a ribbed knit collar that matches its ribbed cuffs and hem.

Windbreakers, track and field jackets

A windbreaker is a light jacket in nylon or polyester that keeps out the wind, often with a hood that packs into the collar. A track jacket has a zip front, a stand collar and ribbed cuffs and is made in a smooth knit. A field jacket is longer, with several front pockets and a sturdier cotton outer.

Size and measurements

Ralph Lauren cuts differ between lines and production years, so the letter on the label is a rough guide.

The full range is on the Ralph Lauren page, with separate pages for hoodies and jumpers and for men and women. The Ralph Lauren guide explains the lines and the labels.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a Harrington and a bomber jacket?

The collar. A Harrington has a short collar that fastens with buttons, and a bomber jacket has a ribbed knit collar that matches its ribbed cuffs and hem.

How can a genuine Ralph Lauren jacket be recognised?

On a genuine jacket the polo player is densely embroidered, with the rider, the mallet and the horse clearly separated, and the neck label and the care label match the line and the fabric. The seven checks are set out in spotting fake Ralph Lauren.
