Fabric and details

Stone Island was founded in 1982 by Massimo Osti, as an offshoot of C.P. Company, and built its name on fabric research and garment dyeing, according to the company history. Most jackets in this collection are made of nylon or polyester, with some in cotton, and many are hooded. The compass badge sits on the sleeve and is removable on several jackets. The collection includes technical shells in Micro Reps and Soft Shell-R with PrimaLoft insulation, lightweight quilted puffer jackets, jackets with a fleece or sherpa lining and two knit jackets.

Size and measurements

Most jackets in this collection are size L, M or S. Jackets labelled L measure between 50 and 62 cm across the chest and jackets labelled S between 46 and 60 cm, and the body length is between 57 and 74 cm. Each jacket is measured flat at four points: chest, length, shoulders and sleeve. The method is explained in the guide to measuring pit to pit.
