Shells, windbreakers and rain jackets

Most jackets in the collection are lightweight shells in nylon or ripstop with a hood or a stand collar and a full zip. They include packable windbreakers with a mesh lining, softshell-style jackets with zip pockets and rain jackets with a storm placket and adjustable cuffs. Many carry an embroidered logo on the chest. The North Face was founded in San Francisco in 1966, and its models include the Nuptse, the Denali and the Mountain Jacket.

Puffer jackets and insulated jackets

The puffer jackets are made of quilted nylon with insulated padding, in glossy ripstop with horizontal baffles or in diamond quilting, and several are filled with down. The collection also includes a down parka, a fleece jacket and insulated shells with contrast panels.

Hoodies and tops

Besides the outerwear, the collection holds hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts in cotton-blend fleece with a large chest logo, and performance tops with a half zip.

Size and measurements

The North Face is cut for layering, so it runs roomy, and older production runs roomier still. The size on the label is therefore only a rough guide. Each item is measured flat at four points: across the chest from armpit to armpit, the length of the body, across the shoulders and the length of the sleeve.
