Clothing made for work

Workwear is clothing made for physical work, and the construction of these items still shows it. The collection includes reinforced knees, tool loops and hammer loops, heavy cotton, canvas and denim, and patch pockets.

Jackets

Carhartt supplies most of the collection, and its jackets include Detroit jackets, chore coats and Active jackets, as well as vests, bomber jackets and other jackets. Schott adds leather flight and aviator jackets with shearling, a nylon bomber jacket and a zip hoodie with a sherpa lining.

Trousers, jeans and dungarees

Trousers make up a large part of the collection. Carhartt supplies double-knee pants, cargo pants, carpenter pants and carpenter jeans, some with a hammer loop or tool loop, and Dickies supplies pants in cotton twill in black, navy, beige, brown and other colours, among them the 874 model. Dungarees come from Carhartt in canvas and from Dickies, Levi's and Roebuck's. Trousers are sized as waist by inseam in inches, for example 38x29.

Jumpers, shirts and T-shirts

Carhartt WIP supplies a large group of crewneck jumpers, together with hoodies, pants and a vest. The collection also holds button-up shirts and T-shirts, including long sleeve T-shirts from Carhartt and Dickies.

Other labels

Levi's supplies jeans and a dungaree, and Lee Wrangler, Roebuck's and Wax-works are each represented by a few items.

Size and measurements

Each item is measured flat at four points: across the chest from armpit to armpit, the length of the body, across the shoulders and the length of the sleeve. Comparing those numbers with an item already in the wardrobe gives a more reliable result than the label. Carhartt is the original American workwear brand. Carhartt WIP is a separate European company that uses the name under licence. The label inside the item shows which of the two made it.
