According to the Ralph Lauren guide, the company started in 1967 with a range of wide handmade ties sold under the name Polo. Most jackets in this collection are cotton, nylon or polyester. The Harrington is the most common cut, with a zip front, a pointed collar and an elasticated hem, and several Harringtons have a plaid or check lining. The collection also includes bomber jackets, windbreakers, track jackets, a field jacket with a packaway hood, a shell jacket, a corduroy down jacket and a nylon coach jacket.
