Pre-owned Carhartt WIP jackets, from Active and Detroit jackets to Santa Fe bombers and hooded anoraks, in canvas, nylon and polyester. Each jacket is measured flat, and its condition is stated in the description.

Models and details

According to the company history, Work In Progress was established in 1994 by Edwin Faeh as the exclusive European distributor of Carhartt. Most jackets in this collection are canvas, nylon or polyester. The anoraks are mostly pullover jackets with a half-zip, a hood and a kangaroo pocket. The Active jackets have a hood, a zip and kangaroo pockets, and the Santa Fe bombers have ribbed cuffs and hem. The collection also includes hooded jackets, a utility jacket, a field jacket and a pilot bomber. Many jackets have a fleece, mesh or quilted lining.

Size and measurements

Most jackets in this collection are size M or L. The size on the label is only a rough guide, because jackets labelled M measure between 56 and 70 cm across the chest, a difference of 14 cm within one letter. Each jacket is measured flat at four points: chest, length, shoulders and sleeve. The method is explained in the guide to measuring pit to pit.

The full range is available at Carhartt WIP, with separate pages for men and women. The American line has its own page for Carhartt jackets, and the Carhartt WIP guide explains how the two companies are related.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Carhartt and Carhartt WIP?
Carhartt WIP is a separate European business. The tag settles it, because a Carhartt WIP item has Carhartt WIP written out on the tag.

How can the age of a Carhartt WIP jacket be judged?
Work In Progress was established in 1994 and the first collection followed in 1997, so a Carhartt WIP label does not belong on a garment older than that.
